Lincoln Road Arts on Lincoln Road Mall
|
We are located on
Lincoln Road Mall which is so much more than
merely a top shopping destination, it is a gathering
place for art, culture and history on Miami Beach.
Lincoln Road Mall is home to such celebrated architectural achievements
as the landmark Art Deco Colony Theatre, the Lincoln
Theater and the Sterling Building, and also
hosts some of South Florida's Top Art Galleries and
Performing Arts Centers. The Miami Design
Preservation League conducts Guided Walking Tours of
the Mall's Historic Landmarks or simply helps guests
find their own way to this culturally significant
thoroughfare. Art Center South Florida provides
low cost studio space to local artists and art
classes for all ages, Britto Central is home to
Brazil's most prolific graphic designer and Peter
Lik Gallery showcases the work of one of Miami's
busiest commercial photographers. Architect Morris
Lapidus (who also designed the iconic Fontainebleau
Resort) crafted unique structures throughout the
pedestrian promenade that are a standing testament
to the Miami Modern Architecture (MiMo) Period.
During the annual international art fair Art Basel
Miami Beach, aficionados of fine art from across the
globe are drawn to the Mall to attend gallery shows,
video presentations and seminars. The newly
completed
New World Center adjoins Lincoln Road Mall and
provides state-of-the-art teaching and performance
facilities for the Orchestral Academy of the New
World Symphony on South Beach. This majestic
structure was designed by Frank Gehry and includes
an open-air park where film buffs flock to weekly
free classic movies and music fans enjoy projected
live concerts on the building's 7,000 square foot
facade throughout the season. The Knight New Media
Center houses video and audio editing suites that
allow the symphony to distribute musical
performances in a digital format. |
